MIDLAND, Texas, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Basic Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: BAS) ("Basic") today reported selected operating data for the month of December 2006.
Basic added three newbuild rigs to its fleet and retired three rigs, leaving its well servicing rig count at 365 as of December 31, 2006. Rig hours for the month of December 2006 were 69,300 producing a rig utilization rate of 82.2%, an increase from 81.2% and 80.9% in the same month in 2005 and prior month in 2006, respectively.
Basic also increased its fluid service truck fleet by a net of six trucks, bringing its total to 646 trucks as of December 31, 2006.
