MIDLAND, Texas, May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Basic Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: BAS) (Basic) today reported selected operating data for the month of April 2006. During the month, Basic added five newbuild rigs, bringing its well servicing rig count to 337 as of April 30, 2006. Rig hours for the month of April 2006 were 67,100, reflecting a rig utilization rate of 91.0%, an increase from 90.7% in the same month last year. The Company also added two new fluid service trucks and retired 12 trucks, whose replacements were received in the first quarter, resulting in a total of 544 fluid service trucks as of April 30, 2006.
